![]() ![]() That said, CW has *already* created a gotcha situation with bun files: they are incompatible with Audio Snap clips. Perhaps the idea that CW also make it so that new bun files could no longer be created goes further than necessary if people wish to continue using buns, then it would be of no consequence to those who choose not to. I don't know how "thick" it's getting in here, but please note that I said (as you quoted) that CW "might want to consider" the deprecation of bun files, and also making PPA the default project mode - the two seem related in a number of ways. Sorry for that but its getting a little thick in here. But that is as far as it should go.Īs far as them being unstable that is an opinion that is very hard to justify. Use them if you want don't use them if don't want to. Yet we have those wanting to rid it from the inventory of the user base. Yet here CW has perhaps a beginning of something that could possibly be the foundation for such a file. Not unlike OMF which I remind people can be in the form of a bundled file. Nice now we are trying to tell each other that we can't have a feature because some one thinks its bad? Why should I be told I can't use this as a file type if I wish to? There is no law saying one has to use them or that they should yet its now being proposed that CW should prevent me from exercising choice.įunny though there was another thread about making a file format that could be used by all DAWs. They should also make Per-Project Audio the default mode. Cakewalk might want to consider officially deprecating BUN files, and make it so that they can still be opened (and maybe saved again if a project was opened as a BUN) but make it not possible to create new BUNS.
